Requirements to become Ultrasound Technologist

What you need to become a professional sonography technician? You have to get a certification. The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) offers certification for aspiring sonography tech. If you get certified from sonography schools, you can practice ultrasonography in the entire North America (Canada and U.S.)

How to Get Certification?

You have to take and pass the examination given by the ARDMS. There are other requirements though before being able to take the ARDMS exams. You can browse the required prerequisites which can be found on the ARDMS website. Enrolling in an Ultrasound school will enable you to meet the requirements. However you need to have really good grades and enough financial capabilities to enter an ultrasound school. Around $5000 annually will be the expected expense for a two to three year certification process.
